Personal
- Raised on livestock and cash crop farms in Illinois and Wisconsin.
- Nine-year 4-H member, with leadership, beef, gardening, photography, conservation and woodworking projects.
- Represented Wisconsin as member of the 1964 State 4-H Livestock Judging Team at the International Livestock Exposition in Chicago.
- State Achievement Winner and Delegate to National 4-H Congress in Chicago in 1965.
- Met his wife, Kathy, through Collegiate 4-H and married the summer after graduation in 1969. Kathy passed in 2007.
- Spent two years in the U.S. Army, mostly in North Carolina.
- Raised three sons, and now have two grandsons living near Tulsa.
- Married to Pat McNally in 2009.
